How to use an oximeter correctly

Under normal circumstances, an oximeter monitors the patient's blood oxygen saturation, pulse and other values by detecting peripheral tissues of the human body. It is an instrument that monitors the oxygen content of the human blood. The correct method of use is as follows:
Turn on the switch on the front panel of the oximeter and turn on the oximeter. After turning on the oximeter, there is a silicone finger mold. Completely put one of the patient's fingers into the silicone finger mold of the oximeter and clamp it. Wait for about 30 seconds. Seconds, wait for the clamp to release automatically.
Put your finger into the oximeter, and the nail must be placed upward; the patient's pulse speed and blood oxygen saturation will appear on the oximeter's display screen. Read the above data. Generally, blood oxygen saturation is defined as less than 94%. For insufficient oxygen supply.
When the blood oxygen saturation is lower than 94%, patients may experience symptoms such as nausea and vomiting, dizziness, and angina. The pulse rate of adults should be 60-100 beats/min. If it is too fast or too slow, it is abnormal.
Precautions:
1. In a calm state, keep your fingers warm and relaxed, pinch your fingers and wait for the value to stabilize before releasing.
2. Do not grow long nails, wear artificial nails or apply nail polish, otherwise it will affect the measurement results.
3. Please clean the dirt from your nails before use, and keep the probe clean.
4. Do not measure blood pressure and blood oxygen saturation on the same arm and finger at the same time, otherwise the arm blood pressure belt will block the blood flow, resulting in the failure to measure blood oxygen saturation.
5. It should not be used on fingers with onychomycosis.
