Arterial blood pressure is a variable parameter: It has a great relationship with the physiological state, emotional state and posture of the measured animal, and is easily affected by external factors.
Method of Oscillation
Measurement principle: The cuff is used to inflate to reach a certain pressure to completely block the arterial blood flow. With the reduction of pressure, the arterial blood flow will be completely blocked - gradually opened - completely opened, and the pulsation of the arterial blood tube wall will produce shockwaves in the gas in the cuff.

With the reduction of pressure, the arterial blood flow will be completely blocked - gradually opened - completely opened, and the pulsation of the arterial blood tube wall will produce shockwaves in the gas in the cuff.
SBP, MBP and DBP can be obtained by measuring and analyzing the pressure shockwaves in the cuff during the deflation process:

Producing the first and clearest signal - reflecting SBP
When the amplitude of oscillation reaches a peak - reflecting MAP
When the pressure in the cuff suddenly decreases - reflecting DBP
When the amplitude of oscillation reaches a peak - reflecting MAP
When the pressure in the cuff suddenly decreases - reflecting DBP
The premise of NIBP measurement by oscillatory method is to find regular arterial pressure pulsation. If the measurement conditions make this detection method difficult, the measurement value may become unreliable, the measurement time will also increase, or even not measured. For example, during the measurement process, when the patient's movement or external interference affects the pressure change in the cuff, the instrument cannot measure the regular arterial pressure pulsation, which may lead to measurement failure.
